I have been writing since I can remember. I grew up in a Seattle suburb. In my mid twenties I moved to Las Vegas. I started out working as a data entry clerk, moved to CAD technical work for a survey department in an engineering firm and then ended up working as a programmer. This is where my husband entered the picture. On my first trip to Quebec, I fell head over heels in love with the place and people, so we moved here, where I pursued the life of a mom at home, raising my three children. All the time, I insisted I would write a book one day.
Inspiration mainly comes from my dreams, those of the nocturnal type. I have always had strange dreams. Some people don't remember their dreams, I feel disconcerted if I have a night without them. Influences on my writing are varied. Miyazaki's films have played a huge role in that department. Also earning that dubious honor are Neil Gaiman, Roald Dahl and Bryan Lee O'Malley. That being said, the driving force behind me has always been my husband who goads me if I haven't written in a given day, and I love him for it.
